I saw it at Seoul Indies. It's like a special game.

Took me a few tries to get how to play (tried to pull from bottom to top) but was very clear after I got it. Relaxing music, eases you into the game, but could use a mute button or volume slider. A pretty simple and clear game, nice!
This is the kind of game that no matter how hard you try, you just can't stop playing.
Took me a while to figure out the best way to get points, but by the time I got the "Lots of flies for you today!" score, I felt like I understood this system pretty well. Loved the game, the SFX were really good, and I definitely felt rewarded enough by the gameplay loop to keep playing for a while until I had made that high score. Really great job, a lovely time!
I like the art and music, the sound effects were very charming :) The way the web is built is also very cool!
really nice style! I love the painted look of it and the spider is cute. Nice song and sounds. Finally, the game play is short, but interesting. Good Job!
The music is really cool, and the art style coupled with the sound effects add a personality to the mix. The scoring system motivates replayability, and the original gameplay mechanic makes you want to play more to "figure it out". Really cool game.

Edit: Also, I'm playing on the web (pun now intended) version and I can only hear the sound effects on my left ear.
Thanks for playing and giving feedback! :) I'm glad you liked it.
Also thanks for letting me know about the sound effects. To try and figure out what's going on can I ask what browser you used please? I tried it on my computer and the sfx came from both sides, also is it just the sfx or also the music as well that's just on the left?
Oh my god those sound effects! Quite a wonderful game overall, great music and replayability thanks to randomized levels, lovely visuals. Goal and controls were quite clear too. The only thing missing is a scoreboard, but i have no idea how would i implement it for a jam game. I guess we could use a comment section. Am i the bounciest spider on the block or what?
I mean i probably am
Wow you truly are the bounciest bug! I'm impressed, I think I got up to around 300 once while developing that's why I added the message, but I didn't think 342 was possible.
Yes the comment section seems to be good as a score board for now, I'm not sure how best to implement that either, usually when I've done it before I used the google play services APIs to log the score and then they manage the rest... Maybe something like that would be nice for itchio in the future too.
Whew, I think much higher really isnt possible :D
My score was 265! I liked how you used the two colors. The animation and noises were great! As stated before my another jammer it was a little unclear what the black dots did. Overall great game!
the animation of the spider and the overall scene is really nice, and the game gives a chill effect. You did an amazing job!!!
Nailed it with 245! I was digging the visual style and music combo! I was a bit confused exactly on what the rules were for where a web would be drawn, but it didn't stop me from having a good time! Nice work!
Hey 245, nice job! Thanks for playing. Glad you enjoyed the music + visuals. :) The web drawing rules are a bit tricky, basically you can connect to any line, wall and dot as long as the distance between the two is above a certain length. I'll see if I can come up with ways of showing that a bit more clearly.
The audio and visuals are amazing! The objective was a bit unclear. Do the dots do anything for my score, or do I just bounce off the walls as many times as I can?
Hi thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked the audio and visuals. :)
The score is determined by the number of lines in the web. The dots are random connection points for you to build a web on, but at the moment they don't seem to have a very big functional impact on gameplay. (It seems that bouncing wall to wall regardless of the dots is about the same as aiming for the dots, although I could be wrong on that). So I'm going to look at ways to make them matter more and make the goal a bit clearer.
Love how mellow and relaxing this game is. Mechanically I was able to understand how to do things very quickly and from there it was just a fun little game.I do wish the level had more things to interact with then just the two side walls. It left me with little to experiment with trying out. Great job.
Hi, thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it. I'm with you on the interaction thing, I had hoped to add more variations (that's what the black dots are for, random connection points) but I ran out of time. The basic mechanic turned out to be harder to implement than I thought. But I'm going to have a think and write a devlog on the process so far and expansions for the future.
I love the animation of the spider, the Bouncy Wouncy Spider aesthetic! I don't know what the black dots are there for though? A short in-game explanation would be nice :)
Hey thanks! I'm glad you liked the animation, it was my first time building an animation in Unity so I'm pretty pleased how it turned out. I used this video to guide me through the process. The black dots are used as connections points to build your web on. I'll try and think of a way to explain/show what they are for in the game.
Simple and small, but well executed - the point of any game jam game, really. It's a pretty fertile foundation to add things like branches with collision and powerups onto (assuming you wanted to expand it).
Hi, thanks for the feedback :)
Thanks for your suggestions, I thought of adding randomized branches instead of allowing web on the walls to vary the gameplay more between tries, but I ran out of time. I'll try and organize my thoughts on future expansions and put it in a devlog soon.
Hi thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, 271 is an impressive score :) I'll try out your game for sure.
The art is amazing and the music also fits the game perfectly. My only complaint is that it's not very clear what those black dots are used for at the start.
Hey thanks for playing, I'm glad you like the art and music. Also, thanks for the feedback on the dots I'll try and figure out a way to show/explain what they are used for.
I adore the sound design. Everything feels happy, chill and adorable. The music, the sound effects and the artstyle come together so well, that you could probably sell me anything beneath that as a good game. Luckily, even the game itself is pretty fun! The idea of just building a web/filling as much space as possible by launching a spider in the air is really good. The only issue I had was that I instinctively wanted to control the spider the other way around, so I shot my first three or so jumps straight into the ground, but I think I got the hang of it pretty quickly and most importantly without frustration. I also really like the small flavor text with each score, kinda gives you a feeling for how well you did.
Hi thanks for the kind feedback. I'm glad you liked the atmosphere, I try and put in a lot of effort to that part of the game. :) A few people have mentioned the controls being intuitively the other way, I'll try and figure out the best solution to that in the future. I'm planning to do a devlog soon on my thoughts and ideas for improvements.
I got a score of 227, is that good? :P
The combination of the art and music made playing the game super chill!
I had a lot of trouble playing the web build. At first I couldn't figure out how to control it at all, I kept trying to drag up from the spider. When I finally figured out how I was supposed to play, I had another problem: I kept dragging the entire game instead of the jump indicator! (Browser: Edge) Not sure what to do about that. Neat concept. Would've liked to see the flies at the end of a play.
Hi, thanks for playing! Also thanks for the feedback on the controls, that's been mentioned a few times. Also thanks for finding that problem on Edge I just tried it out and I got the same thing. I'll see if there's some way of fixing that, but I think it's a problem with how Edge handles dragged clicks on unity web games in general. I'll add it to the list of known bugs.
Simple but fun! I think if this had a high score board I'd be stuck to this game like a fly in a web trying to raise through the ranks. Was a little tricky to figure out what was going on at first but once I got the hang of it couldn't stop playing. great job!!
Hi, thanks so much for the positive feedback :) I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Also thanks for the feedback on the confusing start, a few people have mentioned that. I also think a highscore system would be cool, I'm curious what the best scores are!
I'm planning on doing a devlog on the planned improvements etc soon.
The artstyle of the game is lovely. It was hard at first to understand how to play it since the draw and aim was not very clear but once I figured it out it was nice! I like the endless replayability of this one . Good job!
Thanks for playing :) I'm glad you liked the art. Thanks for the feedback on the dragging/ aiming being unclear. I also think the controls can be somewhat unintuitive (also judging from the other comments I've got so far). I'm planning on doing a devlog on what I wasn't able to put in for the jam and improvements I'd like to make in future.
The art style give me life! I really enjoyed everything in this game, such a fun and simple game and yet I can't seem to stop playing. The colors and the spider are so cute and it's such a fun game I could imagine spending hours playing a game like this on my phone :D
I don't know if you've heard of Game Development World Championship before (gdwc2019) but it's a competition for indie game developers where they can submit their games and it's free! It's great if you want some more visibility for the game and it only takes a couple of minutes to join :)
Hey thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked the game so much. I had not heard of GDWC before, so thanks for letting me know. I'll be sure to submit something :)
Awesome idea ^^ it gets really addictive, and how we can get the spider make webs is pretty funny, it reminds me that experiment where spiders got drugged to make webs x)
